There may be extra money in your closet, and not just the kind you find hidden in your pockets from the last time you wore or used the item! If you are like many and have clothing, handbags and accessories in your closet that you have not worn in a some time, or you are simply tired of wearing, you can easily sell clothing, jewelry and purses through your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch (not yet for Android users), using the app Poshmark.

Poshmark is an app that allows users to network with other fashion-lovers to buy, sell and trade clothing, handbags and accessories. Poshmark will take care of just about everything, including money handling, transaction details and shipping labels, to make it as simple as possible.

Upon logging in, users create a profile and upload a profile picture From there they can immediately start browsing items for sale, or check out upcoming “Posh Parties.” A Posh Party is a virtual buying and selling party that members can host alone, or with friends. Posh Parties have themes such as “Downtown Glamor,” “Edgy, Eclectic & Fabulous,” and “Back to Basics,” or they are organized by the brand or designer they feature, such as Banana Republic or Chanel.

When a party is about to begin, you will receive a notification on your device’s home screen to alert you to head on over to the Poshmark app.

Those buying from Poshmark sellers are assured satisfaction because Poshmark will hold on to your payment until you have received your order and confirm that it is what you ordered, and in the condition described in its listing. Once you have confirmed this, Poshmark will release your payment to the seller.

If you are a seller, Poshmark provides pre-paid, pre-addressed labels for your shipments, so all you have to do is stick it on the box and drop it off at a USPS mailbox, or have it picked up from your home for free.

Poshmark keeps a 20% commission fee on all earnings, and earnings can either be withdrawn via bank transfer, or check request.
