A group of Star Wars fans, led by project founder Chris Lee, are calling 88 acres in Tennessee the new home to the 1:1 scale version of the ship that they are slowly building. The only difference between this model and the ‘real’ one is that this one won’t have an engine.

The Ad Hawk App has made a timely and welcome appearance. After all, it’s that time of year when political ads are on just about every TV and radio in America and Adhawk (there is both Ad Hawk for iPhone and Ad Hawk for Android) has answered our political prayers. Ok, ok, probably not the exact political prayers you had, but the app, a sort of Shazam for political ads, certainly helps decipher these ads that are playing everywhere. But it may surprise you to learn what puts the “magic” in the magic brownies, and that the Magic Brownie Adventure Movie is actually a commerical.
One of the more helpful computer items for the blind is the current generation of text to speech software. Making use of voice synthesizer technology, a “talking computer” which runs software for the vision impaired, such as screen readers, is an incredible help for the blind and the vision impaired. A text to voice converter for Windows, the JAWS screen reading software for the visually impaired aids the sight impaired as well as completely blind people with many popular Windows programs. And the native text to audio speech synthesizer that is included with all new Macs is equally helpful to those with impaired vision and those who are completely blind. (Those who are legally blind may also qualify for assistance in acquiring either computer or software.)
