Once again, Facbook has “helpfully” added a new “feature” – this time it’s a pop-up window showing you new comments that are posted to something that you posted on your timeline. Here’s how to get rid of it.
Now, you might think that the way to get rid of the comment pop-up window would be to click on the “hide this tab” option that you get if you click on the settings (gear) icon in that window.
But, you would be wrong. That only hides that tab for comments on that post.

as Soon as They are Published! Only $1 a Month!
Imagine being able to read full articles right in your email, or on your phone, without ever having to click through to the website unless you want to! Just $1 a month and you can cancel at any time!
If what you want is an option to stop them from happening at all, here’s what you need to do:
How to Get Rid of the ‘New Comment on Your Post’ Pop-Up Windows (Tabs) on Facebook
Go to Facebook in your web browser. Once there, look for the gear icon that is associated with the chat feature. It will be in the lower right-hand corner of your screen.
Click on that gear icon, and click on ‘Turn Off Post Tabs’.
You’ll know you were successful when you see that option changed to ‘Turn On Post Tabs’.
Now those annoying comment pop-ups will never darken your screen again, at least until Facebook ‘helpfully’ turns them back on for you. But at least now you know how to turn them back off again.
No Paywall Here!
The Internet Patrol is and always has been free. We don't hide our articles behind a paywall, or restrict the number of articles you can read in a month if you don't give us money. That said, it does cost us money to run the site, so if something you read here was helpful or useful, won't you consider donating something to help keep the Internet Patrol free? Thank you!
