Pool crashing is the newest in thing with teenagers in Britain, and could well catch on quickly in other countries. The teens are using Google Earth to locate swimming pools in their area; then setting up the pool crash party by announcing it on Facebook.
Homeowners whose pools have been violated after having been located on Google Earth and crashed have come home to either find stranger teens splashing about in their pool, or the telltale signs that they had been and gone, such as beer cans floating in their pool.
Advised one British police spokesman, “We are advising owners of swimming pools to be on their guard.”
“We would also warn prospective swimmers that using someone else’s pool is trespassing and therefore illegal,” he added.
