Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has unveiled a key part of the Facebook master plan for their Facebook profile redesign: the Facebook Timeline. The Facebook Timeline is your timeline – your profile’s Timeline, from as far back as you want. In fact, there will be a “way back” section for things you can add (photos, etc.) that have to do with your past (from baby pictures on up).

Said Zuckerberg, “It’s fun and easy to fill out your timeline.”

Zuckerberg explains that “Here’s a Travelers timeline, a Musicians timeline, a Runners timeline on mobile – see all the way back to when she was a little kid. It’s really cool – you get a nice visceral feel for who they are. It’s the story of your life: you have ALL your stories, ALL your apps and a NEW way to express who you are.”

“We’re really proud of timeline. We think it’s an important next step to tell the story of your life,” he added.

You can plug videos, music, and more into your Timeline, letting your friends in on your music favs, and more. And you can pick a photo to stay at the top of your profile, banner-size.

“You have complete control over everything you have on your Timeline,” says Zuckerberg. Facebook Timelines are, he adds, a “great way to learn who a person is without reading about them at all.”
