The new Nyxem-D worm making the rounds has been dubbed the “Kama Sutra worm”, because it arrives in an email offering graphic sex images and videos. “Kama Sutra pics!” it claims, or sometimes “Hot Movies,” along with several other variations on the theme.
Of course, what it really does is decimate your security and anti-virus protection, grab email addresses from your systems, and wreaks general havoc on both your computer while mass-mailing itself from your computer to everyone you know (or at least everyone whose email address it finds).
The worm’s technical name is W32/Nyxem-D worm, or just the Nyxem-D worm, although it is also known as the Email-Worm.Win32.VB.bi or W32.Blackmal.E@mm worm.
Explained Graham Cluely, a senior consultant with Internet security company, Sophos, “Companies should educate their users to practice safe computing – that includes never opening unsolicited email attachments and discouraging the sending and receiving of joke files, pornography and funny photographs and screensavers.”
Other subject lines have included “give me a kiss”, Miss Lebanon 2006″, “Part 1 of 6 Video clip”, and “The Best Videoclip Ever” (shades of Richard Scarry!), along with the racier “Arab sex DSC-00465.jpg”, “Fw: SeX.mpg”, “Fwd: Crazy illegal Sex!”, and “School girl fantasies gone bad.”

So, tempting though it may be, if you get one of these emails, don’t open it!
