Aunty has had several people ask her recently what “Bluejacking” is. Bluejacking is really just another name for Bluespam, or for what the Car Whisperer does.

Wikipedia defines “Bluejacking” as “the sending of unsolicited messages over Bluetooth to Bluetooth-enabled devices such as mobile phones, PDAs or laptop computers.”

This also applies to any other sort of data which is pushed to someone else’s Bluetooth device.

Wikipedia also suggests that “Bluejacking is quite harmless”, but as devices like the Bluesniper become more common, allowing hackers to sniff out vulnerable Bluetooth devices, and then to take advantage of them with devices like the Car Whisperer, they may have to reconsider.
