Last year former spam king Scott Richter settled a $7million lawsuit with Microsoft and claimed to have stepped down from the spamming throne. Indeed, even long before that, in an exclusive Internet Patrol interview with Scott Richter , Richter claimed that he was not spamming. However, at least one person says that Richter is still spamming, and has filed a lawsuit against Richter saying as much. California company Infinite Monkeys and their principle, Ronald F. Guilmette, say that they have filed a lawsuit against Richter and his OptInRealBig.com, along with four of their customers, and is seeking $27.4million dollars in damages. One of the customers named in the lawsuit is Florida-based National Associate Credit Services, Inc.. Guilmette and Infinite Monkeys.com are suing Richter under California law, alleging deceptive practices, false advertising, unfair competition, and tresspass, and have pledged to contribute up to one-quarter (25%) of any net proceeds towards the expenses incurred by those defending against SLAPP suits brought by spammers.

I am very sorry for your loss, Promise Johnson. I now have two lawsuits against OptInRealBig.com — which I believe recently was renamed Media Breakaway — and would love to hear what you have to say about Scott Richter. Please email m at jferron@columbus.rr.com. Thanks, J. Ferron
