If you’re frustrated trying to figure out how to select and add multiple songs in Amazon Music, either to download them or to add them to a playlist, you are by far not alone. There is no visible check box next to songs in Amazon Music, and in fact no obvious way to select songs other than one at a time. Our instructions will tell you how to select and download several songs at once, or how to select and add multiple songs to an Amazon Music playlist, whether you are logged into Amazon Music on your browse, or using the desktop app (note that we are using the Mac version of the Amazon Music desktop app, it may be different if you are on a PC). This does does not cover how to do it in an iOS or Android app.

How to Select and Add Multiple Songs in Amazon Music Using a Web Browser
The easiest way to select multiple songs is using your browser, logged into your Amazon Music account at music.amazon.com/my/songs. Once logged in, go to your listings of songs and click on the first song that you want to download, clicking between the artist’s name and the play time.
Doing so will usually (you may have to do it twice, but usually) select the song, at which point the magic checkbox will be revealed to you.

Now you can select the songs that you want and either add them to a playlist, or download them.
How to Select and Add Multiple Songs in Amazon Music Using the Amazon Music Desktop App
If for some reason you prefer to use the Amazon Music Desktop app, the process is a bit different, and a bit more frustrating, because there are no check boxes! But if you must, go to your list of songs in the app, and here too you will click between the artist name and the play time.
However, unlike with the browser option, no check boxes will appear! You just have to have faith that the song on which you clicked has been selected; it may look a bit highlighted, but it may not.
Now go to the last song that you want to select, and hold down your ‘shift’ key, and click between the artist and play time on that last song. This will select all of the songs between the first song selected and the last song selected. It will also open up an action menu on the righthand side from which you can add the selected songs to a playlist, add them to a queue, or download them. Note that you don’t get to just click on ‘Download’ to download them, you have to drag them over onto where it says ‘Download’.
So given that using a browser gets you the handy, not to mention useful, check boxes, and using the desktop app does not, why would you ever want to use the desktop app?
Because unlike using a browser logged into music.amazon.com, the desktop app allows you to sort by which songs have already been downloaded and which haven’t. So, if what you want to do is download the songs that you have rightfully purchased, so that you don’t have to pay Amazon their monthly extortion installment just to listen to the music that, again, you have already paid for, you may want the ability to sort your music to find the ones that have not yet been downloaded. (Sorting by download date also groups together the songs that have not yet been downloaded.)
