Facebook parent company Meta has responded to a coordinated series of lawsuits (list of states and the complaint below) which include one filed in Federal court on behalf of 33 states and state Attorneys General, and 9 other related suits each filed in individual states in state court.

In case you were wondering whether Amazon might be slowing down in any way – they’re not. In fact, in addition to their looking for the location for their second headquarters, they have announced that they are opening seven new fulfillment centers in August alone! Salt Lake City, Orlando, Las Vegas, Aberdeen MD, Shelby Township MI, and Troutdale OR are all seeing a new fulfillment center open this month, and Las Vegas has not one, but two new Amazon fulfillment centers opening in August. Separately, Amazon has also announced a new perk for Prime members: you can now place an order with Whole Foods through the Prime app, and it will not only be waiting for you when you arrive, but a Whole Foods team member will bring your order out to your car!

Peter Deacon had been a Pandora user for years, using Pandora’s free service. Then Pandora shared his private information, including his full name, his music preferences, and what he listened to, both on Facebook, and for anyone searching the Internet, Not cool, he thought, and sued for breach of privacy. But the Michigan high court ruled last week that because he doesn’t pay for the Pandora account, he is not a ‘customer’, and so not entitled to privacy protection.

If you are thinking about creating multiple fake Facebook accounts in an effort to make it appear that your ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend are stalking you, and if you are thinking about calling the police multiple times to report – relying on “evidence” from Facebook profiles that you yourself created – that your ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend are in fact stalking you, you should probably hear the story of Michigan’s Cheryl Nelson first. Nelson allegedly weaved the web of deceit just described, essentially stalking herself on Facebook, with the main targets being her ex-boyfriend Kevin Haarsma and his new girlfriend. For her efforts Nelson is currently facing criminal charges for falsely reporting a felony.
