With very little fanfare, and even less regard for its customers, Amazon has taken away yet another free perk of being an Amazon Prime customer, and is now charging $1.99 to use the Amazon Key In-Garage delivery service. This makes the 4th thing just this year which Amazon has removed, or up-charged; in addition to now newly charging for the Amazon Key service, Amazon took away Amazon Smile, changed the free delivery threshold for Amazon Fresh from $35 to $150, and announced that Amazon Prime video customers would have to pay an extra $3 per month if they didn’t want ads inserted into their previously free-with-Prime videos.

Amazon isn’t the only company looking to come into your home, literally, when you aren’t there. Walmart also has announced what they have nicknamed “in-fridge delivery”, a service where their employee, nicknamed a “Deliv driver” (seriously, Walmart, who is coming up with these things?) comes into your home to make deliveries, when you’re not home, even putting your groceries away in the fridge for you. To which we say not only “no”, but “hell no!”

Amazon Key is Amazon’s newest privacy nightma..er.. innovation for Prime members. Basically it involves installing a new smart lock to which Amazon delivery people have access, so that they can deliver things inside your home when nobody else is home. What could possibly go wrong?
