Of course, it remains to be seen if we will continue to be fans after we see what changes, if any, YouMail will put into place.

YouMail actually acquired PhoneTag in September, saying in a statement that “YouMail immediately improves the user experience of PhoneTag customers through more advanced call-handling as well as increased protection from scammers and spammers.”

We noted the change in our bank statement from the usual “PHONETAG 800-788-0916 CA US” to “YOUMAIL, INC. 949-632-3241 CA US” in November. What’s interesting is that in December it changed back to ‘PhoneTag’ again, but with a different number:

“PHONETAG 800-374-0013 CA US”

We’re guessing that the unrecognized merchant (“YouMail”) in so many people’s bank statements may have caused a lot of people to dispute the charge, and so YouMail changed it back to PhoneTag.
