Why am I Getting So Much Email from Amazon? (And What to Do About It)

If you are getting a lot of email from Amazon, besides order confirmations, and wondering why, this may be the reason (and here’s what to do about all that email you are getting from Amazon).

First, when you first sign up for an Amazon account, you are automatically subscribed, by default, to all of their marketing mailings. And when we say “all”, we mean all.

There are a total of 32 categories of marketing email to which you are automatically opted in (33 if you are an Amazon associate)!

Fortunately, it is really easy to stop the flow of email from Amazon. Just click the button next to “Do not send me marketing e-mail” and you will find that all of the marketing categories are instantly greyed out:
