The UN Verified project recruits volunteer ‘digital first responders’ to provide accurate information, about the global Coronavirus pandemic.

The White House has taken the novel step of starting a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to help raise funds for Syrian refugees. In partnership with the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Prez has gone on Kickstarter with an appeal to the American people: please send money.

In a scathing indictment against the Democratic (hah!) People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), also known as North Korea, the UN’s Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has levelled charges amounting to crimes against humanity. The United Nations commission found that “The gravity, scale and nature of these violations reveal a State that does not have any parallel in the contemporary world.”

Russia is using the situation with Edward Snowden, the NSA and PRISM leaker, to push an agenda that would see the United Nations taking over primary control of the Internet, from the United States.

The United Nations Educational Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) has unveiled the World Digital Library – a website onto which they are scanning ancient writings, pictures, and other media. And by ancient, we are talking antiquities – even now, in the UN WDL’s early stages, some of the earliest scanned images date from 8000 BC.
