The Huffington Post, also known as HoffPost and, simply, HuffPo, announced today that it is shutting down its contributor network, effective immediately. The contributor network was essentially HuffPost’s blogging arm, allowing anyone holding a Huffington Post contributor account to write an article and post it to HuffPo.

Back in 2014 Facebook announced that it was discontinuing the Facebook email service (where people could email you at your_username@facebook.com). That’s because it wasn’t very popular. But just in case you were one of the handful of people who used your @facebook.com email address, they kept a forwarding service on so that your Facebook email address would still forward to your address of record at Facebook. However, now Facebook has finally completely shut down the email service, including email forwarding.

Barely two years ago, networking giant Cisco purchased the Flip video camera (by buying Pure Digital, the makers of the Flip camera) and folded the Flip USB video camera business into the Cisco brand. This week Cisco has announced that they are killing the division, and killing the Flip camera, and a lot of people are pretty unhappy about it. Fortunately, the Flip camera is still available for purchase (links below); unfortunately, it won’t be supported. On the other hand, the Flip camera is so darned simple and straight-forward, it doesn’t need a whole lot of support.
