Move over, ghosting and breadcrumbing, stashing and submarining, there’s a new kid in town: mosting. And by ‘kid’, we mean that they are kidding you. Kidding you about what? About that you are their most special person. Hence the term ‘mosting’: mosting = most + ghosting.

Which do you think is worse: being breadcrumbed or being ghosted? We have previously written about ghosting, which is when someone with whom you have had a date, or have been texting or emailing (or, heaven forbid, talking with on the phone), disappears without even the courtesy of telling you that they have decided that they are not interested, or are perhaps interested in or seeing someone else. Breadcrumbing, on the other hand, is when they don’t disappear, even though they are no longer genuinely interested in you.

With Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to talk about ghosts. Only, we mean online dating ghosts. Oh, we don’t mean sipping coffee with Casper. ‘Ghosting’ or to be ‘ghosted’ means that you had a date, and then the person simply vanished. They didn’t bother to call you (or email or text you) to tell you that they weren’t interested, they simply let their lack of communication do it for them, figuring you’d get the (uncommunicated) message.
