Blackberry has certainly had its share of problems. From global Blackberry outages to Yahoo making Blackberry not an option at Yahoo, to CEO Thorsten Heins rather ridiculously predicting the death of tablets, the Blackberry has certainly seen better days.

Blackberry CEO Thorsten Heins is branching out. No longer content to be just the CEO of one of the most improbably failingest tech companies, he is now a prognosticator (that’s a fancy word for someone who predicts the future). According to Heins, in five years there will no longer be any reason to have a tablet computer.

From the BlackBerry outage, to Yahoo giving it the boot, BlackBerry makers Research in Motion (RIM) have not been having the best week, and many are concluding that it is the beginning of the end for the beleaguered company. Whether it is the end, or just a series of unfortunate events, there is no doubt that they’re are struggling fiercely to stay afloat amidst market-dominating Apple, and their runner-up, the Android market.
