If you were required to re-enter your password in order to log in to Facebook today (28 September 2018), there’s a good reason: Facebook this morning revealed that it had suffered a massive breach, compromising as many as 50 million user accounts.

Law enforcement agencies have come up with a new tactic for investigating crimes: location-based warrants, served on Google, demanding that Google disclose Google accounts in use on all mobile devices that were in a given area at a certain time, thus giving detectives and other LEOs a pool of potential suspects and persons of interest who may have committed or have information about whatever crime they are trying to solve.

Those of you who breathed a sigh of relief over the hacking of the Ashley Madison adult cheaters site because instead you are on one of the Friend Finder sex hookup sites, such as Adult Friend Finder (AdultFriendFinder.com) – guess what? It turns out that last month Friend Finder Networks, parent company of Adult Friend Finder and other associated sites such as Penthouse.com, Cams.com, iCams.com, and Stripshow.com – totaling over 412 million accounts – was hacked, exposing email addresses, passwords, and IP addresses – everything your spouse or significant other needs to nail you nailing someone else.

A new proposal by the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) division would revise their current information collection system for foreigners applying to enter the United States by requesting information about the individual’s Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts. CBP is proposing that “Please enter information associated with your online presence – Provider/Platform – Social media identifier” be added to the applications for entry to the U.S..

Tamara Fields became a widow when her husband, Lloyd Carl Fields Jr., was killed in a terrorist attack in Jordan. Now Fields is suing Twitter, claiming that Twitter is not doing enough to shut down ISIS Twitter accounts, which they use for recruiting and planning terror attacks. (Full text of Tamara Fields v. Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has confirmed that Twitter will begin the beta roll-out of a new Twitter service – the Twitter verified account service – designed to confirm and verify that the Twitter accounts of celebrities, public personalities, and other famous people are actually the accounts of the people they say they are, and not imposters and pretenders.
