WARNING: The following article contains profanity. Using social engineering, this scam spam tries to trick you into thinking that someone is very upset with you for leaving a rude message on their wall, and demanding that you “Delete your comments from my wall.” Of course, the link to “their wall” is really a disguised link to a fake Facebook login page, designed to steal your Facebook password. That fake Facebook page is hosted at la-criniere-napierville.com/ACCEUIL-HOME/facebook.html

The full text of the email – and don’t say that we didn’t warn you about the bad language, reads as follows:

Subject: Fuck you!

who the fuck are you?
Why are you leaving this crappy comments on my facebook wall.
I am not gay and I don’t even know you.
Delete your comments from my wall : facebook[dot]com/people/Mad-DJ/617451803
If you don’t remove them ASAP , I will find you and fuck you!

Again, that “http://www.facebook.com/people/Mad-DJ/617451803” in the email is actually a cloaked URL that goes to la-criniere-napierville.com/ACCEUIL-HOME/facebook.html, which hosts a fake Facebook login.

So don’t be taken in by this – nobody is really mad at you because, in fact, you didn’t leave that non-existant message on their non-existant wall.

  1. Wow, I haven’t came across this phishing attack before.. thanks for the head’s up.

Although, the message content really wouldn’t apply to me since a) I keep my Facebook friends list limited to folks that I actually know and b) like Craig, I don’t leave offensive messages either.

  2. @ craig wesson,
good move craig, i haven’t seen any of the e-mails and i don’t have or want a facebook account, so if i do get that e-mail i’l automatically delete it as junk mail.

  3. Thanks!

I actually got one of those stupid emails last week. Evidently, they mine email addys from Facebook accounts?

I marked the message as Spam and deleted it immediately. I didn’t fall for it because I knew I never leave offensive posts and couldn’t care less if someone is gay.

Thanks for keeping everyone informed. We are so lucky to have found this Internet Patrol site!
