If you recently received a “payment request” out of the blue from Oracle Corporation, or Crazy Eddie, or any other place, and it left you scratching your head and wondering just why Crazy Eddie or whomever is asking you for money, well, you’re not alone. Perhaps even more bizarre is the email addresses from which these requests for payment are allegedly coming – email addresses like “admin@treasury.gov” and “noreply@federalreserve.gov”.

The links in the email, which claim to be links to “decline the transaction” actually go to sites like us-credit-security.com and cardholder-security.com.

Here are two samples:

We recorded a payment request from “Oracle Corporation” to enable the charge of $141.93 on your account.

The scammer behind this may or may not be one Lee Xiong – that is the name under which both us-credit-security.com and cardholder-security.com are registered, but scammers tend to not use their real names when registering domains.

Anyways, if you get one of these scam emails, ignore it.
