How to Search All of Craigslist at Once

Now that Craigslist no longer has “adult services” listings, people can get back to the business of using Craigslist for things like buying stuff, selling stuff, and finding rentals. This is all well and good, but Craigslist separates all of their listings by geographic location, in fact often by very localized location. What if you want to expand your search? What if you want to search all Craigslist at once? Here’s how.

Fortunately for us all, there are three different ways – three different sites, really – that allow you to quickly and easily search all of Craigslist, so that you can search all Craigslist listings at once.

Below is a discussion of – and links to – all three of these sites. In our examples, we are searching for a “Samsung Galaxy Vibrant” phone (because we have one that we want to sell and wanted to see how much they are selling for on Craigslist.)

The first site is “All of Craigs”. It is by far the most feature rich, and most complicated, site:

For example, at “All of Craigs” you can limit the price range, and how recent the ads are that you search. You can also specify the condition of the item for which you are looking, and include searches based on exact phrases, or even exclude certain words. And you can run that search on just the titles of the listings, or on the entire listings.

Then you can filter the results by either location or category.

If this is all a bit more than you need, and you want a more basic, quick search of all of the Craigslist locations, then “Search All Craigs” may be more your cup of tea.

Search All Craigs offers a basic, straightforward, Google-style search option (and not surprising, really, as it’s built as an overlay to a customized Google search):

In between the two is “Craig Look”, which claims to allow you to search within 250 miles of your location, and offers search results that include images. But by leaving the zip code section blank, we got results all over the country. Craig Look also allows you to limit your search to just one section (i.e. “Automotive”, “Furniture”, etc.) and, finally, you can create an RSS feed for your RSS reader of your search results, so the results are delivered to your RSS reader whenever a new listing matching your criteria is posted.

So there you have it – 3 different ways to search all of Craigslist at once.

Here are the links to each of the services:

Search all of Craigslist with “Craig Look”.
