Why is it so expensive? Clive Christian, a British designer-turned-perfumer, poured 16.9 ounces of No. 1 into a Baccarat crystal bottle, slipped a five-carat diamond into the 18-carat gold collar and unveiled it at Harrods in London and Bergdorf Goodman in New York City in 2005 during the Christmas Season. Only five bottles were released for sale — three sold and the other two are in Mr. Christian’s archives. Unfortunately, this perfume will never be sold at a perfume discount.
