I’ve been getting a lot of questions about those new ads with the pictures which are at the bottom of the page on the Internet Patrol Website.

These ads are suggestions made by me personally, using the new Chitika “eMiniMall” program.

No, I don’t get a commission if someone buys something (although the Internet Patrol does get a small stipend if someone clicks on it - we use these sorts of fees to help cover the cost of maintaining the Internet Patrol website so that we can keep the Internet Patrol free.)

What’s really neat about the Chitika program, which makes it unlike any other program out there, is that you (the website owner) can specify which products are shown. That is how I am able to put up the “I have and love my…” category. Those really are items which I have, love, and use every day! It’s my way of providing a little review of an item in which I believe. And the Chitika program provides a picture, the specs, a search function, and a link to wherever the best deal can be had for that particular item. I think that it’s pretty nifty!

It’s also the way I’ve been able to provide ideas for Halloween and Christmas!

Here are some of the specific questions I’ve received:

1. What are those new ads at the bottom of the Internet Patrol website?

See above. Also, they are at the bottom so that they are out of the way and don’t intrude on your reading and enjoyment of our articles!

2. Do you really have all of the things in the “I Have and Love My…” category?

Yes, I really do, or at least something very similar (for example, the electric tea kettle I have is a different model, but nearly identical).

3. Why is there a portable urinal featured in the “For Yourself…” category?

Long-time readers will remember a story we did on the “Internet Urinal“.

4. This is pretty cool - way better than that adsense, can I put it on my webpage and decide what things I want to show?

You sure can! And the best part is that it costs nothing to sign, and if people like what you suggest, you may even get a little bit of cash to cover the cost of your own webpage! Just go here:

Hey, let me know if you sign up, and I’ll email you a link to a nifty free tool which a friend of mine created to help you figure out the best items to tell it to show! Just send me email here

P.S. You can even find the perfume I wear listed in the “I have and love” section - try it! Women love it, and men love it on women - really, I have had so many men walk up to me, ask me what perfume I’m wearing, and then exclaim “I’m going to get that for my wife (or girlfriend)!”

That said, in some cases after being very pleased with a product or service, we may enter into a relationship with the provider of that product or service such that if someone purchases that product or service based on our recommendation, we may get a small payment. Such payments go towards the upkeep of the Internet Patrol.
