Cyber Monday is the Monday following Thanksgiving, when all of the online Christmas sales start up.

Of course, if you read our article about Black Friday, you know that many online sites have already started offering great discounts.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, when all of the shops have their sales, and it’s chaos and bedlam and pandemonium, oh my! But that ain’t nothing compared to Black Monday - or Cyber Monday - the Monday after Thanksgiving, when all of the online shoppers take to the net.

“On Cyber Monday, consumers set their sights on surfing for holiday gifts and shopping online,” explained Scott Silverman, executive director of Shop.org, which released a survey last week indicating that more than 75% of all online retailers surveyed found that their sales went way up on Black Monday. “This year, online retailers will be capitalizing on the increased traffic by offering special promotions and discounts.”

In other words, in an effort to trade in on that anticipated increase in shopping traffic, this year online merchants are expected to offer deep online discounts and promotions today.

According to Chuck Davis, Chairman of Shopzilla, quoted in the Shot.org report, “Once the parades have ended and the leftovers are put away, many consumers will find a few precious hours to get a jump-start on the holidays by shopping online. This year, retailers will be reminding shoppers that even though their stores may be closed, their Web sites are always open.”

So, if you have holiday shopping to do, you too can get a jump start on it by shopping the Black Monday holiday sales online.
