Ah, a screw camera. Everyone should have a screw camera. Of course I’m not referring to that which caught Fred Durst in a compromising position, or Paris Hilton clinching with another girl.

No, I’m talking about a real, honest to goodness wireless surveillance camera, embedded in a screw. Wow.

Of course, monitoring people, and the use of surveillance devices in general, has experienced a real boom as devices get smaller and smaller, and companies more comfortable with spying during the ordinary course of business. One only needs to read the workplace monitoring report, in which more than 25% of companies admitted to firing employees as the result of employee surveillance, to realize how prevelant it is.

Whatever your reasons, and right or wrong, you have to admit that a camera which is hidden inside a screw is pretty impressive. And maybe a bit scary.

Available in colour and black & white, wired or even wireless, they can be had from a number of outlets for as little as $170.00 USD. Did I mention “wow”?

You can even go whole hog, with a colour wireless version featuring a 3.6mm Lens, 380 line resolution, 72 degree field of view, 1 Lux Auto Electronic Shutter and White Balance DSP Color 1/4″ CCD Sensor camera for less than $400.00.

Making it, of course, the, uh, ultimate screw cam.
