hey…just got one of these whats the scam?? they aint asking for bank details……Yet, suppose they will once they think i’m hooked:( well work tomorrow after all :(
Comment by quentin — 12/17/2006 @ 10:51 am
The scam is just like the other “lottery” scams where you will be asked to Western Union all kinds of banking/transfer fees, taxes, etc. UP FRONT to get the funds into your hands. Except there are no funds for you to get. Another variation of the 419 advance-fee scam.
Comment by Danny Goodman — 12/17/2006 @ 11:34 am
Please inform me. Is it scam for Britsh African lottery Promations ?
Comment by M.V.Ratnam — 12/18/2006 @ 7:16 am
As Danny says, it’s an advance fee scam, you pay, pay, pay, and never see a dime of the alleged “winnings”. Just ever more creative reasons you need to send more money to the scammers until you finally realise you’ve been royally buggered and stop bending over for it.

My advice: Anytime time you get any such mail, the very first thing before any further action is copy the subject or the title and do a google search. I bet you would get the real picture. Just a matter of awareness about this whole internet.
Comment by Anil Kumar R — 1/11/2007 @ 8:11 pm
Hi every body.
Actually there aren’t any company or producer to spread out and grant their money whithout a certain reason such a above mentioned method. so don’t believe on these rabish emails that it just waste our time.
Comment by Michael — 1/14/2007 @ 6:30 am
I too, got one of these same e-mails as mentioned above, I began to correspond with them (not knowing it was a scam). Then they asked for about £300 carrier fee to deliver the cheque, I told them I was a volantry worker and could not afford that amount of money. I also told them, their e-mails (still have them) have been sent to the appropriate authorities. Funny thing was………..that was the last I ever heard from them. I just wish there was somewhere I could sent on these e-mails to be investigated. Any ideas? (UK)
Comment by Meg, Scotland, UK — 1/18/2007 @ 2:32 am
I’ve recieved the same e-mail for $250,000lbs which came from a London message which had the same content only mentioned they were associated with ipod. If it looks to good to be true it usually is.

Comment by kamani — 3/7/2007 @ 11:30 am
Followed up on this spam email I received. What they do is get you thinking it is legit (the guy actually called my cell phone!!) and then give you three options on transferring the money to your account, which all cost you $500-$800.00….which of course cannot be deducted from your winnings because of the “iron-clad insurance” that is on the amount.
Comment by Greg — 3/9/2007 @ 9:44 am
My son received an email last night from the Cocoa Cola Company Season Prize Notification saying he was one of 7 lucky winners results released on Feb 27th 2007 I looked on the Search and found a similar letter I did not reply to anything as I always am very skeptical these can sound so convincing and people want to believe especially when it comes to money if Coca Cola Company hasnt been advised this is going on they should be, go to the top I say.
Comment by Barbara — 3/11/2007 @ 12:28 pm
Dear Anne Mitchell, March 11th 2007
The mischevious scoundrels are currently implementing the same manuevers of their unscruplous craft out of the United Kingdom, claiming to award 20 winners at one million Great Britian Pounds each.By the forth e-mail upon reply, they claim SkyNet worldwide Express as their corrier. They use both Coke and Skynet logos, addresses. The e-mail reply is a yahoo address with the preface of either company. The results are by the 5th e-mail,you are requested to Western Union them them a considerable amount of money for the Highly insured content to be despatched.Their e-mails are more improved than the one on your site currently (March 11th 2007)
Good work Anne Mitchell and Company

I wish there was a way to warn everybody in the world to stay away from these scams, maybe putting up warning posters in the Post Office, and in stores all over the country, might help, but something has to be done. These crooks are not going to get caught, but if We inform People better about these scams maybe less People will be scammed.

I too recieved an email. when I responded I got another email saying that I would get a package containing a check from Scarlet Courier who is a legitimate courier company but the contact was on legit. They were also stating courier charges would have to be paid for the parcil to be delivered. I didnt get any contact back after I wrote to the currier comany they asked me to contact and asked questions about how much the fees were and verification that they were not fraudulent. Often a good sign that you are working with a fraudulant person is the reply email address. In most of these cases they use gmail, yahoo or hotmail email accounts. Most major companies will have their own domain so you would normally see an email such as John.Doe@cocacola.com or something to that extent but they are using free email services to conduct their scam. Dont fall for it. Do your research and dont be afraide to question the identity of the person you are corresponding with. If you have to call the companies directly and ask.

People, the best way to know if an e-mail is a scam or not is to know that there never has, and never will be a “free lottery” with random winners. The second best way to spot a scam is to look at their e-mail addres. No-one working for Coke or Microsoft or whoever will have a gmail, hotmail etc. account!!!
Lasty, check out the links they give, there is usually a spelling mistake well hidden to make you think it is real.
With your full name, address and e-mail address I could quickly and easily take up to £500 from you before you even realised it and you would never trace me. NEVER give your details to anyone you do not know. Your greed will be your downfall…..
Comment by jannyboy — 10/9/2008 @ 12:13 pm
“jannyboy” reply #89 gives excellent advice, no one is going to give “free money” at random, most certainly not bill gates,coca-cola or any other company. if it “sounds too good to be true” it is not true. the same applies to the “get government grants” and “payday loans” and all the other “easy money” e-mails, including those sent by regular mail. scams, all scams to entrap the simple and the greedy. do not believe in “pie in the sky”, “tanstaafl” (”There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch”) is the true watchword.
“gunner”
(by the way, the same applies to all the “ladies in distress” begging for help online. you won’t get laid, but you will surely get screwed.)
Comment by "gunner" — 10/10/2008 @ 3:16 pm
I have recieved so many of these e-mails that we just laugh and make up a scenario as to what we are going to spend the money we ‘won’ on! BUT it is serious, espically as people are falling for it (one couple withdrew all their savings and if it wasn’t for the bank manager and the police getting involved, they would have lost everything.)Yesterday I recieved a 419 but decided to check out the address of the solicitors. Google linked me to this 419 site, which is very good. Information is useful but it also alows us to get involved on scamming the scammers! So, have a look! Good luck everyone.

The Coca-Cola lottery has discovered a huge number of double claims due to winners informing close friends relatives and third parties about their winning and also sharing their pin numbers. As a result of this, their friends try to claim the lottery on behalf of the real winners. The Coca-Cola lottery has reached a decision from the Authority that any double claim discovered by the Lottery Board will result to the canceling of that particular winning, making a loss for both the double claimer and the real winner. So you are hereby strongly advised once more to keep your winnings strictly confidential until you claim your Price.

What kind of conscious does these people have? I have borriwed so much money waiting for these thousands and millions of dollars. I don’t know what I am going to do finacially if at least one of them do not send me what they promised without strings attached. I can’t stop believing that I will receive on winning. I may end up in court for the cash that I owe. How can the FCC allow these types of scammers to prey on poor Americans.
