  2. The scam is just like the other “lottery” scams where you will be asked to Western Union all kinds of banking/transfer fees, taxes, etc. UP FRONT to get the funds into your hands. Except there are no funds for you to get. Another variation of the 419 advance-fee scam.

  3. Please inform me. Is it scam for Britsh African lottery Promations ?

    Comment by M.V.Ratnam — 12/18/2006 @ 7:16 am

  4. As Danny says, it’s an advance fee scam, you pay, pay, pay, and never see a dime of the alleged “winnings”. Just ever more creative reasons you need to send more money to the scammers until you finally realise you’ve been royally buggered and stop bending over for it.

  9. I too, got one of these same e-mails as mentioned above, I began to correspond with them (not knowing it was a scam). Then they asked for about £300 carrier fee to deliver the cheque, I told them I was a volantry worker and could not afford that amount of money. I also told them, their e-mails (still have them) have been sent to the appropriate authorities. Funny thing was………..that was the last I ever heard from them. I just wish there was somewhere I could sent on these e-mails to be investigated. Any ideas? (UK)

  18. Followed up on this spam email I received. What they do is get you thinking it is legit (the guy actually called my cell phone!!) and then give you three options on transferring the money to your account, which all cost you $500-$800.00….which of course cannot be deducted from your winnings because of the “iron-clad insurance” that is on the amount.

  20. Dear Anne Mitchell, March 11th 2007
The mischevious scoundrels are currently implementing the same manuevers of their unscruplous craft out of the United Kingdom, claiming to award 20 winners at one million Great Britian Pounds each.By the forth e-mail upon reply, they claim SkyNet worldwide Express as their corrier. They use both Coke and Skynet logos, addresses. The e-mail reply is a yahoo address with the preface of either company. The results are by the 5th e-mail,you are requested to Western Union them them a considerable amount of money for the Highly insured content to be despatched.Their e-mails are more improved than the one on your site currently (March 11th 2007)

I wish there was a way to warn everybody in the world to stay away from these scams, maybe putting up warning posters in the Post Office, and in stores all over the country, might help, but something has to be done. These crooks are not going to get caught, but if We inform People better about these scams maybe less People will be scammed.
