A website for a new British comedy, “Gone to the Dogs”, has a nifty cool online “what dog are you?” test. Yes, yes, Aunty knows, it sounds insipid, perhaps even sophomoric. But the “Gone to the Dogs” online “what dog are you?” test is actually entertaining, novel, and extremely well done. Plus, it’s just plain fun to find out what breed of dog the game believes you to be most like.

From the retro 50s style buttons and dials on the “control panel” to the real-time teletype “print out” system responses, to the realistic sound effects, “What dog are you?” is the way these sorts of online faux tests should be done, but so rarely are - think the purity test, or the “what’s your porn name” test (what do you mean you haven’t taken those? Or maybe it’s just Aunty?)

The set of ten questions takes less than two minutes to complete, and then quicker than you can say “ooh, look at that fire hydrant!”, the analysis is done, and you know what dog you are.

And be sure to let Aunty know what you are after you take the What dog are you? test.

  1. A Picardy Shepherd dog (no I’d never heard of it either!). By the way, this TV series stars Prime Minister Tony Blair’s father-in-law as the dog - kind of makes one wonder, since his daughter can, or so I understand, be something of a dog’s daughter at times!
