Father’s Day is the third Sunday in June, and we are often asked to recommend some really good Father’s day gifts - unique Father’s day presents or unusual Father’s Day gifts - and here are our top picks!

Top on our list right now is the Drivemocion, which is the remote-control car sign that you hang in the rear window of your car. You can use it to either thank the driver behind you, or to tell the off. Displaying five different messages - a smiley face, a frowny face, “thank you”, “back off”, and “idiot”, the Drivemocion car sign is sure to please any sort of driving dad. You can read more about the Drivemocion car sign, and order it, here.

We are also really partial to the Zeon portable DVD player with video iPod dock. This nifty DVD player is so much more than your typical portable DVD player. With a 7″ video screen, built-in speakers, viewing stand, and remote, plus the ability to dock your iPod video and view the videos on the full screen (in addition to your DVDs) it’s a unique and wonderful gift. Read more about or order the iLuv Zeon portable DVD player with iPod video dock here.

If you’re prepared to spend a little more on dear old day (and want to make mom happy too, particularly if dad is the type who won’t ever ask for directions), we can’t recommend highly enough the Garmin Nuvi portable GPS. This wonderful GPS unit goes from car, to pocket, to backback and back again. It’s incredible ease of use belies just how full-featured it is. Read about how wonderful we think the Garmin Nuvi GPS is, and why (and order it) here.

Those are our top three recommendations for unique Father’s day gifts that we’re sure any dad would be delighted to receive. Let us know how yours likes them!

  1. While the Drivemocion is cute, I don’t think it is a good idea considering the way people drive today. There was an incident in Tulsa, Okla. recently where a driver got hacked off because a woman tried to pull on to the expressway in front of him, so he fired a shot into her car, where it lodged in her child’s car seat. Thankfully the child was not in the seat at the time. But can you imagine how pissed off that driver would have gotten if that lady had had one of the Drivemocions in her car?
