Andrew Kellett, 23, known on YouTube under his alter ego MrChimp2007, has been served with an interim Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) at England’s Leeds Magistrate’s Court. The order prevents him from adding to his extensive YouTube collection of 80 videos showing off his unlawful behaviour, including dangerous, reckless and high-speed driving; drug use; and theft. Under the order he is also banned from causing alarm, harassment or distress to any person in England and Wales. Any breech of the interim ASBO before a full hearing in July could result in jail time.

After the hearing, at which several of the YouTube videos were shown to the magistrates, Leeds City Councillor Les Carter said “Kellett must be in the running to be Leeds’s dumbest criminal. He has handed us the evidence against him on a plate.” We see nothing in the chimp’s video collection to disabuse anyone of this statement.

Further proving Mr. Carter’s statement, Kellett opposed the interim ASBO, saying that he was simply an innocent and uninvolved bystander filming the events, and that they would have happened whether he was present or not. That defense didn’t fly at Nuremberg, and it’s unlikely to fly here. He also claims that the ASBO, restricting as it does his ability to post illegal activities on the Internet, could be a “breach of his right to free expression.”

Having posted details of his YouTube video collection, we’re sure some of you will feel compelled to check out what the fuss is all about. As a service to those of you who feel like this, let us save you the time and effort. Not only are the acts unlawful, but the videos are boring, jerky, pointless and frankly not a little ridiculous. Rather like Mr. Kellett himself.

His parents must be so proud.

  4. rosetta,
randall is right, these internet threats are usually just morons trying to scare anyone they can. turn them in to the proper authorities. personally i don’t let them bother me, i didn’t give up my gun when i retired and in the unlikely event that one of them actually turned up on my doorstep he’d have a very bad day, otherwise let the police handle it.

Every month just like clock work. I get the same call once a month. From the phone number 1 703 321 9200. When i answer this call i get a click andi am always cut off. This phone number comes from the suburbs of Washington DC. This has been going on for to years now these phone calls. i called operator she keep telling this was spam. I told her ths had nothing to do with spam. She became very angry and told me she cold not do anything about this phone call. I ran up search on this phone number, It comes back has so called peace organization. I am going to keep putting presure on this group or so called peace group. To stop this harassment because that is just what is in a nut shell.
