Microsoft’s Windows Updates for this month total nine, of which three are considered critical for Windows security. Four are considered important, and there are also two of “moderate” concern. The three critical Windows updates are all security updates to Windows security flaws which would allow for remote code execution if exploited. That means that the bad guys could take over your computer remotely, and run programs on it. These updates affect the Windows OS, Internet Explorer, and DirectX. The four “important” updates all are related to remote code execution as well, and include flaws which affect both Windows and Exchange. Finally, there are two moderate-concern Windows security updates, and they impact FTP and networking. The former could allow tampering with your system, and the latter a DOS against your system. Some of these flaws affect all versions of Windows, as well as Server and Exchange. So no matter what Windows you are running, you need to go to the site and download some security updates for yourself. You can find the information and download links here.
