First there was DOS. Then WIN 3.1. Then WIN95. Then WIN98.
Then WIN XP.... Now Vista.
What makes you think that $Micro$oft$ is going to get it right this time? Why should I pay one cent more for buggy, bloated and crummy software?
BTW: If I upgrade to the nest OS most likely $MS$ will cause me to buy a new computer just so that it runs fairly decently..... NOT!

Hi Shannon,

You can find out if Windows XP will be compatiable with your current Windows computer by downloading the upgrade advisor tool:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/upgrading/advisor.mspx
which will inform you if any devices will not work on your computer.

If you want to upgrade to Windows XP Home Edition, you will need Windows 98, 98 SE or Me. Windows 95 or below are not eligable, as neither are Windows NT or 2000 (although NT and 2000 can both be upgraded, along with the other three, to the Professional Edition).

The system requirements for running Windows XP are listed here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/evaluation/sysreqs.mspx, although in truth, (albeit slowly) Windows XP can be run on a system as low as 64MB RAM and 150Mhz processor.

Don't forget you can puchase Windows XP Service Pack 1 probably quite cheaply now and then simply download the free update to the newer Service Pack 2 to save money, too!
