Thanks Anne - I met an airline guy one time who said that the person who solves Lost Luggage could name their own price.
Two friends flew separately Australia to USA last december and both had to wait THREE days for their luggage to re-appear.
This is a horrible place to be in, wasting precious holiday time without clothes and gifts for family (they were both visiting US-based daughters).
If we can micro-chip pets, surely we can track a suitcase.

This is the answer to lost airline luggage. Standing alone at the empty carousel, you can find out where your bag is before you wail at the airline desk.

This is just silly. The information you have given is obvious. The entire point of "Find my iPhone" is you can find it if it is lost or stolen, this means you don't want beeping flashing messages on your iPhone. As for "Anyone" being able to do this, they need to:

1) pay for a mobileme account, I doubt your average joe is going to buy a mobileme account on the off chance they will have access to someone's iphone.

2) They have to be able to make changes to your iPhone's settings (Ever hear of a passcode?)

3) You have to have push enabled on the iPhone for find my iphone to work. Thusly, anyone who doesn't use push should notice the changes.

4) This is sincerely one of the worst pieces of attempted scare news I've ever seen blogged.
