iPods which double as cell phones, as well as video iPods, are rumoured to be the next big thing which Apple will be unveiling at their big announcement next week. The iPod phone has long been rumoured, and both Dow Jones and the New York Times have confirmed this week that Apple has inked a deal with cell carrier Cingular. The partnership between Apple and Motorola has also been well-documented, and many believe that the announcement will be of an iPod phone, running on a Motorola ROKR cell phone. The makings of a Motorola ‘iTunes phone” has been common knowledge for some time, but the exact details, and date, have remained unknown. But still, a video iPod would be awesome as well, and has also been long rumoured. Apple has been known to be courting major movie studios, such as Disney, but that could be for just about any of Apple’s hardware. Still others, such as industry analyst Tim Bajarin of Creative Strategies Inc., think that the announcement will be a new iPod Shuffle with greater capacity - up to 4gig, says Bajarin (here’s hoping that he’s wrong, as that would be just so pedestrian compared to the other possibilities). So, what do you think it will be?
