Even though it makes sense, who knew? It turns out that Christian podcast shows, Roman Catholic podcasts from the Vatican’s radio station, Radio Vaticana, and other religious-themed podcasts are a big hit. In fact, although you might not think it based on what’s been in the news lately, some might suggest that subscribers to Christian podcast feeds outnumber those interested in, shall we say, podcasts of the flesh. After reading about the phenomena, a quick search readily turned up more than two dozen regular and credible Christian podcasts, offered by or including content from everyone from the popular Dr. James Dobson, to Christian music podcasts, to the “Wired Jesus” podcast, which his billed as “The Wired Wanderings of a Postmodern Pilgrim.” For their part, the Vatican offers podcasts in several different languages, including Italian, English, French, German, Polish, Spanish, Swedish, and Brazilian. Recent offerings from the English version of the Vatican podcast include “Iraqi President at the Vatican” and “The Canadian Crisis”, and “The Mother Teresa Prize”. The Vatican podcasts are available at Radio Vaticana. Christian podcast shows can be found readily by using your favourite search engine and searching “Christian podcasts”.
