If you are one of the legion of people who has your domains registered through RegisterFly, you will need to transfer them, and asap. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the overseeing organization which authorizes domain registrars, as terminated RegisterFly’s domain registrar accreditation, meaning that RegisterFly is no longer authorized to act as a domain registrar.

In fact, RegisterFly has been ordered to cease domain registrar operations by March 31st.

“Terminating accreditation is the strongest measure ICANN is able to take against RegisterFly under its powers,” explained ICANN CEO Paul Twomey.

Added Twomey, “ICANN has been frustrated and distressed by recent management confusion inside RegisterFly. I completely understand the greater frustration and enormous difficulty that this has created for registrants. I call on RegisterFly to act in the interests of registrants and seek such a transfer from us straight away.”

So, if you have any domains registered with RegisterFly, get them transferred now.
