Yes, you read that right! Get a T-Mobile Sidekick II (a/k/a the Danger Hiptop) for free! Actually it’s better than free! Believe it or not, right now, after rebates, you will make $50.00 when you buy a T-Mobile Sidekick II Danger Hiptop! Of course our readers will remember the T-Mobile Sidekick from either my own enthusing about it, or from the more notorious turn it took when Paris Hilton’s Sidekick got hacked, but that was not the Sidekick’s fault (it turns out that apparently Ms. Hilton had a pretty easy-to-guess password - she obviously doesn’t read the Internet Patrol). But more about the enthusing, because this is such a great deal that I want all of our dear readers to get in on it if they are even thinking about a Sidekick. I carry my Sidekick with me wherever I go. That means that I always have with me both email and AOL Instant Messenger, along with a web browser, and the traditional PDA functions (calendar, notes, address book, etc.) It’s also true that the Sidekick is a cellphone, but to be honest I don’t use it as a telephone, and as a data-only device it kicks some serious dust - and the service fee for unlimited data (without telephone) through T-Mobile is only $29.95 per month! Yep, for $29.95 a month you get unlimited email, Instant Messenger, and web browsing in your pocket. And it’s push email! Meaning you don’t have to log in to a server to check it, it just shows up on your Sidekick and is there. Brilliant. And as of just yesterday you can sync the calendar and contacts with a Mac as well as a Windows machine! As I have mentioned before, I used to call it the “poor person’s Blackberry”, but that’s really unfair to the Sidekick, because it’s every bit as good as a Blackberry, for half the cost, and now you can get the device itself for better than free! So, run to Amazon and get the T-Mobile Sidekick for free (oops..better than free!) [Note: This offer may have expired by the time you read this, but you can still usually get some pretty good deals on the Sidekick from Amazon, or your local T-Mobile dealer.]

Slight error. You only get the $150 off from Amazon if you sign up for a $39.99/mo plan - not $29.99.

They no longer show it available, in fact ALL the places I had bookmarked for a free sidekick 2 no longer offer it, is something going on??? My contract ends this month but I can’t switch ports until next week at the earliest and now all the specials have gone away.
