Geek cruise excursions by Geek Cruises are not only fun, they are fascinating and educational. In fact, as cruise lines go, they have the highest “justifiable” factor around.

Oh, you want celebrity cruises? How about their “MacMania” geek celebrity cruise, featuring geek celebrities Steve Wozniak and Leo Laporte, and taking you from San Diego to Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta?

Or perhaps you’re more interested in a cerebral cruise excursion, such as the “Chess Moves” cruise, with not one, but three grand master chess players to guide you around the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands, as well as the chess board.

What? You say that these don’t sound all that geeky? Ok, how about their “Photoshop Fling” along the Mexican coast?

How can you resist?

If you can’t resist, but you think that your spouse or your boss can, Geek Cruises even offers tips on how to convince your spouse and your boss to let you go on the Geek Cruise of your choice. Hints for convincing the boss include such tips as “Ask for a per diem (a daily allowance for room and board) rather than asking for a free cruise. Chances are, a reasonable per diem will cover much of your cruise,” and “Offer to give up one week of vacation time. After all, you are taking a cruise vacation! A week’s vacation is very expensive for employers so this compromise might actually tip the scales.”

While hopefully your spouse would be a little easier to convince (it’s a cruise, after all), Geek Cruises would have you remind them that while on a Geek Cruise they can “work out, walk, dance, curl up and read, see a movie, visit a new culture,”
