Lance Archibald appears to have everything. The thirty-one year old former collegiate basketballer has good looks, a great personality, a sense of humour, an MBA from Harvard, and a great job.

What Lance Archibald doesn’t have is a wife, and apparently in the Mormon community to which he belongs, that’s nearly a travesty at his age.

However, to make up for it, what Lance does have is friends and colleagues who decided to fix him up in a big way. And when Aunty says “big”, she means big.

How big? Try “a full-sized billboard on the Utah interstate” big. A full-sized billboard with Archibald’s smiling face, and the caption “I’m Lance. Let’s go out.”

With a URL for his brand-new surprise website, DateLance.com.

How did Lance take the unexpected, surprise help of his “friends”?

Well, that was when they determined that he really does have a good sense of humour. Whew.

The stunt wasn’t pulled just to get Archibald a date, however. You see, his employer, LogoWorks, who dreamed up the campaign is a marketing and PR firm specializing in logo, website, brochure, and other design projects. And links to job opportunities pepper the DateLance website.

Still, the DateLance site is legitimate, so interested ladies should check it out.

Actually, Aunty was going to register “DateMyFriend.com” or “DateAGeek.com” to showcase some of her single, eligible geek men friends, but all the good domains, unlike all the good men, are taken.

So, ladies, if you want to meet a good geek man in the SF Bay area, drop Aunty a line.
