If you’re looking for free online music downloads - legal free music downloads and free music video downloads - then have we got news for you! Spiral Frog is a new free legal music downloads service offering free music downloads! That’s right, absolutely free music downloads! Rather than charge for its music downloads it is instead advertising supported - so you get music downloads free while Spiral Frog gets to show you ads. The twist is that these totally free music downloads will not play on iPods or Zunes. It also won’t work with any Apple computer. So you can get all your music downloads free, but they won’t work with your Mac, iPod or Zune. That is because Spiral Frog relies on the Microsoft Digital Rights Management (DRM) system its free music downloads. The way it works is that you register for Spiral Frog (free), and download a tiny application that interfaces with their website. Then you can download to your heart’s content, all free! You can play each song that you download on up to two different music players of your choice (they use the Windows DRM to limit it - and for that reason the music player must be able to play WMA fies). Explains Spiral Frog: “SpiralFrog is an ad-supported Web site. We sell ads on our pages to advertisers who want to talk to you. And we give the majority of that advertising revenue to the music publishers and labels who own the music you’re downloading. Most of our song and video downloads take a short, consistent amount of time to complete, during which we encourage you to keep discovering new areas of the Web site. Every page you visit allows us to serve more advertising, thus building the revenues we can pay to the content creators.” There is no download limit, and they currently have over 700,000 songs and videos! So get absolutely free music downloads and free music video downloads at Spiral Frog.

The story is plain wrong:
1. Spiral Frog does not offer MP3’s, they only offer WMA files.
2. You cannot play Spiral Frog music on MP3 players, but ONLY on WMA players.
3. Spiral Frog IS NOT free, it requires that you buy Windows.

Spiral doesnt even let me burn a cd, use my ipod or anything!!! Check out http://www.we7.com - another ad funded free music site. The content is still limited but actually the site is much better! the tracks are all DRM free to keep, and the downloads are compatible with any player. Its also really artist friendly (Tastemaker section)

It’s good to see more sites come out with music and other media that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
We will get to the place where this won’t be an issue and we can just listen to our music on whatever device we have.
