As more and more people go mobile - and more and more people join Facebook - it’s only natural that more and more people want to combine the two, and have Facebook and m login (shorthand these days for “mobile login”). Happily, there is a mobile Facebook login page, and there is also a Facebook mobile application for just about every smartphone out there, so you can m login to your heart’s content. So if you’re wondering “how do I use Facebook from my phone?”, read on to learn about the ways to mobile login to Facebook, and about some of the Facebook mobile applications that are available.

The most straight-forward way to login to Facebook from your phone is to simply use Facebook’s mobile login system. To do this, you simply tell your phone’s web browser to go to “http://m.facebook.com” - replacing the traditional ‘www’ (for World Wide Web) with ‘m’ (for mobile). It doesn’t get much easier than that. In fact, to see how much extra ’stuff’ Facebook has removed from this version of Facebook, to make it easier for you to read on your mobile phone, just go here and give it a look (it works on your computer too): http://m.facebook.com.

(Note: You can use this version any time you want from any computer as well - if you have a particularly slow Internet connection, for example, this is a great trick to remember.)

But perhaps the mobile version of Facebook doesn’t quite do it for you - maybe you want all the bells and whistles when you are Facebooking on your cell phone. Here are some applications for various types of cell phones that should get you well on your way:

Facebook for Windows Mobile

If you have a Windows Mobile phone, Microsoft has their own mobile Facebook application, just for you! The Windows Mobile Facebook application allows you to “send messages to any of the people in your Friends list, take pictures and videos on your phone, then upload them right to Facebook, send messages or call people in your Friends list, and manage your profile and post anytime, anywhere.”

You can read more about and download the Windows Mobile Facebook application here.

Facebook on the iPhone

iPhone users can (and arguably should) avail themselves of the iPhone Facebook application, available through the iTunes store. The iPhone Facebook application was recently updated to provide push notification (meaning that you will have Facebook updates, wall posts, friend requests, and more arrive magically on your iPhone) and to sync your Facebook contacts into the iPhone’s native address book.

You can download the Facebook iPhone application here.

Facebook on an Android Phone

There are many Facebook applications available for the Android platform. A couple of them are:

Fbook for Android, which is a full-featured Facebook application.

Pure Messenger for Android, which allows you to get Facebook messages pushed to your home screen.

Facebook on the Blackberry

RIM, the providers of the Blackberry platform, like Windows, offer their own Blackberry Facebook application for the various Blackberry devices. The Facebook application for the Blackberry allows you to update and view your status, receive instant notifications, post photos, “like” a friend’s status, and sync your Facebook friends with your Blackberry.

You can download the Blackberry Facebook application here.

This should be enough to get you started accessing Facebook from your mobile phone regardless of what phone you are using!
