What do you think the hot news is on the mean streets of the Internet? The Apple lawsuit against pre-med student Vivek “Desicanuck” Sambhara for putting a beta version of Mac OS X 10.4 (”Tiger”) on Bit Torrent? Yep, that’s right. People care more about Paris Hilton’s hacked Sidekick address book, notes, and photographs more than they care about their computer’s security, the security of large computer systems on which their personal information resides, spam, spyware, or pretty much any other Internet nasty. I know this because in the past 24 hours the Internet Patrol has gotten more visitors looking for information about Paris Hilton and her hacked Sidekick than any single other subject. More than 20,000 of you have looked at our article on Paris Hilton more than 25,000 times! The next most viewed article this year didn’t garner even half that much attention, and that was about updating one’s Windows computer to patch up several quite nasty security holes on your system! So c’mon guys! What is it? What does Paris Hilton have that Bill Gates doesn’t?
