It had to happen. With pay-per-jolly phone centers, adult-content Internet sites, and all of the other services to which those of a mind can avail themselves, it’s only surprising that it took someone this long to launch it: the mobile porn service. The new service, being offered by Private Media Group of Spain, will include pictures, videos, erotic games, mobile sounds (what the heck is that?) and personalized teXXXt chats, and will be available to subscribers throughout Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the UK.

Hey, Private Media, this guy here probably has some prerecorded moans he can sell you.

“This agreement marks a turning point in our mobile content services,” explained Berth Milton, CEO of Private Media, the company offering the landmark service, adding that it will “enable us to leverage both our unique range of content and our huge existing customer base to take our mobile presence in Europe to a truly market dominant position, the revenue potential of which is just waiting to be exploited.”

Hunh. Well, I guess you kind of have to expect words like “dominant position” and “exploited” from someone who services that market sector.

Taking a slightly more formal approach was Daniel Winterbottom, a senior research analyst at Informa, who explained that “The key to turning erotic mobile content into a sustainable revenue stream is to adopt a responsible approach, making sure subscribers who wish to view such content are age verified and that those providers who are looking to make a quick buck are squeezed out of the equation.”

And moisture-proof phones.
