I received one of these today, which I responded to by giving them my personal info ( not bank details tho) which was followed by a phone call to verify my name and told to check my email for further details. it instructed me to contact a bank in china, and to check the attachment to view my award certificate. I clicked on the link in chinese characters, to my shock it led me straight to my inbox of my yahoo, the original mail was sent to my gmail!! now I’m starting to worry. What can I do now??

54. Legitimate lotteries do not operate internationally. Therefore they do not have any foreign agents. Prizes for any legitimate Japanese lottery would have to be claimed in Japan. No lottery run by any Japanese company uses any agent or bank in mainland China (country code: +86). Any “Japanese” lottery that involves a phone number starting with +86 (China) or +852 (Hong Hong) is by definition fake. See also Japan Email Lottery, a similar and possibly related scam.
