Ok, now Aunty can’t quite decide whether this is just too tacky for words, or a clever twist on the old bridal registry. This new website allows the wedding couple to register for their honeymoon, and lets wedding invitees help pay for the trip. From their press release:

“With fairy-tale weddings still en vogue, brides and grooms often feel compelled to follow up their extravagant
reception with an equally opulent honeymoon.

But to ensure the honeymoon is one to remember without busting their budget, more couples are turning to Web sites like HoneymoonOutlet.com to help them save time and money.

Honeymoon Outlet recently announced the launch of its free, personalized honeymoon gift registry, where wedding guests can contribute funds for the honeymoon. It helps wedding guests who wonder what to give a couple who may already have a room full of stuff, while giving the newlyweds what they really need but wouldn’t ask for.

“We tracked the honeymoon industry closely for years and we came to recognize more stressed out couples but also couples with a more adventurous travel spirit,” says Michael Brandes, managing director of Honeymoon Outlet.

“So we created our website with tools like the gift registry to help make even the most exotic honeymoon dream a reality for today’s newlyweds.”

Honeymoon Outlet features value-filled honeymoon recommendations for every lifestyle and budget; honeymoon planning and destination content, including weather charts a must-have checklist and packing tips, along with customer-service hotlines staffed around the clock.

“Our goal is to take the stress out of honeymoon planning and transform it into an enjoyable, imaginative extension the honeymoon itself,” Brandes says.
